The members of Milwaukie Elks Lodge #2032 (13121 SE McLoughlin Blvd in Oak Grove) are hosting “Fear Asylum”, a great fund-raising event that is open to the public. Want to be involved? There are still openings for volunteers for different ‘Haunting’ acting/positions on those dates. If you just love doing that sort of thing (or know someone else who loves it) contact Kurt Baker to be put on the “Haunters’ list. He can be reached atkurtmbaker@comcast.net or his cell # 971/344-5878. Posters, flyers and other details of Fear Asylum can be found at http://www. fearasylumhauntedhouse.com/ box_widget.html
Those who Face Book, please go to Portland Perks site this week and vote for Fear Asylum. Winner of the contest gets $10,000 in free advertising for their event. We could really use the exposure for the Lodge and for the event.
The members of Milwaukie Elks Lodge #2032 touch the lives of people in the area in ways that many of you may not be aware of. The funds raised at the Fear Asylum are used to support their many community activities. They provide and pack the weekend food supplies for North Clackamas School District’s ‘Back Pack Buddies’ program. They also support the Children’s Eye Clinic at the Casey Eye Institute at OHSU, a Boy Scout Troop, a Veteran’s program, the Relay for Life, etc.
Also for your Elks Lodge update – The County Commissioners, sitting as the Clackamas County Housing Authority, have not yet exercised the option to purchase the Milwaukie Elks Lodge/Property. The outdoor swimming pool has been drained, sealed and planned to be open for next summer’s use. The Elks continue to solicit members. Thelma is their Membership Recruitment Chairperson. Contact her to get information on what else is going on there.
